How this version works
The original Music Mood Matcher was a React, Express, and MongoDB capstone that used Spotify listening data. This version searches Spotify’s live catalog with mood, energy, and genre hints. It varies searches and excludes the last 200 tracks shown in this tab. It returns up to 10 fresh tracks; narrow searches may return fewer. Spotify no longer provides the original Recommendations and Audio Features endpoints to this development app, so search results are not audio-analyzed mood recommendations.
Spotify sign-in uses authorization code with PKCE. Your Spotify password and client secret are never requested by this app. The access token stays in this tab’s session storage until it expires or you disconnect. Playlist data is saved locally only when you choose Save.
